My machine is blinking and I can't make any coffee. What can I do?

After preparing several Café Royal Lungos or Espressos, the coffee machine may start to blink. This is necessary for the machine to cool down so that the next coffee will not be too hot. This is not a defect in the machine. After a few minutes the blinking will stop and the machine will be ready for the next coffee.

The espresso coffee doesn't flow through properly. Why is this?

Preparing the perfect espresso requires approx. 30-40 seconds for a cup size of 40 ml. Coffee is a natural product and preparation time can vary accordingly. In addition, we recommend that you descale your coffee machine on a regular basis. Have you already made a Café Royal and now very little or no coffee is flowing through? Please check the filter plate for residue and remove, if necessary. First turn the machine off and then remove the residue.

The Café Royal Lungo hardly flows through, or doesn't flow at all. Why is this?

Each coffee blend is balanced for the recommended cup size. When the recommended amount of coffee is exceeded, this increases the flow time - which can cause the aluminum foil to separate from the capsule. Please carefully note the recommended cup size for each coffee blend: Espresso: 40 ml (04. dl) / Lungo 110 ml (1.1 dl). If you notice that the aluminum foil has come off the capsule, please check the filter plate for coffee residue and if necessary, remove it. First turn the machine off, then remove any residue.

The lever only closes with great force or does not close completely - will this damage my machine?

No. The machine can be used as usual. The capsule is made of a flexible, yielding material and cannot damage the coffee machine. In tests of Nespresso® machines, no damage caused by capsules could be ascertained.

The capsules are not ejected automatically.

You may push the capsule out lightly with your finger, or move the lever back and forth slightly. In general, we recommend that each capsule be ejected after coffee preparation.

How can the capsules be disposed of?

The capsules are more than 90% plastic and can be disposed of in the household waste.

When the capsule is inserted it falls directly into the capsule holder - what should I do?

You may simply use the same capsule again. For best results, place the capsule in the capsule holder slowly and at a slight angle, then close the lever.

I have grind in the cup. Why this?

To reach its optimum coffee flavor, the coffee is finely ground. The finest particles of coffee form a kind of filter, which holds back the other coffee grains. Despite this, grains of coffee may still get past the filter plate and land in the coffee. Coffee is a natural product and this will not affect your health. By rinsing the machine, the remaining coffee grains may be flushed out of the machine.
